The Santa Monica Mountains – Cycling Tour

The Santa Monica Mountains are hidden gems as majestic as the Pyrenees or the Alps. Its’ pristine paved roads, a vast trail network, and diverse topography have made this stretch of coast a cycling tour destination for domestic pros and World Tour teams warming up for their season and the Tour of California.

Because the peaks of the mountains line up neatly as you ride north and south, it is very easy to set up a ride with multiple climbs, and the variety of gradients available means you can take a mellow spin over some rolling hills or really put your quads to the test on some cat 1 climbs. Routes can always be adjusted depending on your skill and comfort level

Malibu experiences warm summers with the average temperature for the year being 72°F (22°C). The winters are very mild and rainfall is infrequent. The mountains produce their own microclimates that can shield riders from excessive heat, channel wind currents, and provide respite from cold offshore flows.

We are 20 miles west of Beverly Hills and 30 miles from the center of Downtown Los Angeles; close enough to sneak in a trip to see the sights, but far enough away to avoid the congestion and traffic.
